Project Scope

Haley Ward has provided professional engineering services to Katahdin Valley Health Center (KVHC) for the last three years. KVHC is a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides care to medically underserved areas where healthcare access is otherwise limited or non-existent especially for those who are uninsured, underserved or have MaineCare coverage. KVHC provides clinics in Ashland, Brownville, Houlton, Island Falls, Millinocket, and Patten.

Haley Ward’s designs conformed to the construction design standards required by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Haley Ward also supported KVHC with the administration of the HRSA grant program.

Ashland: In 2014, Haley Ward supported a major interior renovation and site redevelopment project at the Ashland Clinic. Haley Ward provided a site survey, a new site plan, garage/storage building code review and structural design review of the interior renovations.

Brownville: In 2015-2016, Haley Ward supported a major interior renovation and addition and site redevelopment project at the Brownville Clinic. Haley Ward provided a site survey, a new site plan, and code review and structural design review of the interior renovations and addition.

Houlton: In 2014-2015, Haley Ward provided design, contract administration, and construction observation services for a major renovation to the Houlton Clinic. The project involved the development of a new retail pharmacy and the redesign of offices, hallways, restrooms, and check-in, check-out stations.

Patten: In 2015-2016, Haley Ward provided design, contract administration, and major renovation to the existing Patten Clinic. The project involved the development of a new retail drive-thru pharmacy with mail order services, a new three-operatory dental clinic with lab and x-ray services, and the redesign of offices, hallways, restrooms, and check-in, check-out stations.

In 2015 Haley Ward provided a site survey, a new site plan, code review and structural design for the new Patten Administration Building.
