CES, Inc. Acquires Massachusetts Engineering Firm Haley Ward, Founded Over 123 Years Ago

Bangor, MAINE- CES, Inc., a Maine-headquartered firm of engineers, environmental scientists, and land surveyors, is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Haley and Ward, Inc., a civil and environmental engineering firm based in Maynard, Massachusetts.

“We are excited to welcome all of Haley Ward’s employees and clients to the CES team. Offering a complete range of professional engineering services through the planning, design and construction of water supply, sewer and storm water handling systems, Haley Ward complements the services we provide,” said CES President and CEO Denis St. Peter, PE. “In addition to the rare opportunity to acquire a firm that has served clients well over a century, Haley Ward appealed to us because of our similar cultures that focuses on its employees, its clients, and providing quality service. Continuity is a key component of a successful acquisition and Haley Ward President and sole owner Scott Miller will stay on as Vice President and Regional Manager as well as all other employees including key leadership staff, Greg Eldridge, PE and Bethany Ordung, PE as Vice Presidents.”

This is CES’ first office in Massachusetts and second acquisition outside the state of Maine, bringing the total number of employees to over 115 across nine locations.

“We are delighted to join the CES team. Haley Ward is proud of our 123-year history and sought a company that valued our experience and recognized the importance of providing quality designs with a high level of service. CES is that company,” said Haley Ward President Scott Miller, PE. “This was a win-win for us. Not only do our clients benefit from the additional services and capacity CES has, but our employees gain new opportunities to grow their careers. With this partnership, our clients are assured of continued quality service, and our employees are looked after too.”

To maintain a sense of familiarity during the transition from Haley Ward to CES, the firm will be known as Haley Ward, a division of CES, Inc. to their current clients.

Haley Ward has 13 employees ranging from professional engineers including civil, environmental, mechanical and electrical engineers, CAD operators, project representatives and additional technical staff. This acquisition adds additional depth to CES’ water and wastewater engineering staff and expands CES’ geographic presence into Massachusetts.

“As a part of steady growth strategy, we have sought to expand our geographic presence outside of Maine and strengthen our technical services by acquiring companies with similar experts. CES’ Engineering Division Director and Executive Vice President Travis Noyes, PE has helped identify and implement this strategy. He will play a crucial role in assuring that clients and employees have access to CES’ full-range of resources during this transition period,” said St. Peter.
