Haley Ward Names Amy Kearns, MBA As New Chief Financial Officer

Amy Kearns, MBA, has always enjoyed working with numbers. Her interest in finance began in high school after taking an accounting class, where she discovered a natural aptitude for the subject. What started as an interest has grown into a career focused on helping organizations make smarter decisions and improving operations through sound financial leadership.

“I’ve always loved working with numbers,” Amy said. “What I enjoy most is being able to use the financial viewpoint to improve operations and help the company be more successful.”

Prior to joining Haley Ward, Amy served as Vice President of Finance at Northern Light Health. While she enjoyed her work in healthcare, she was ready for a new challenge. She wanted to continue growing her career while staying in the Bangor area, and the opportunity to join Haley Ward offered exactly that.

“I wanted to experience an entirely new industry,” Amy said. “After meeting with Denis (St. Peter, President and CEO), Travis (Noyes, Chief Operating Officer), and members of the team, I became really excited about the opportunity. It felt like a great move.”

Since joining Haley Ward, Amy has found that the company’s culture is what sets it apart. She appreciates that the firm’s core values aren’t simply words on a page, they’re values that employees genuinely believe in and demonstrate every day.

“The culture here is authentic,” she said. “People truly believe in our values.”

Two values, in particular, stand out to Amy: accountability and empowerment. She values working alongside professionals who take ownership of their work while also supporting one another’s success.

“I love the culture of empowerment here,” she said. “People are given the tools they need to be successful and then trusted to do their jobs. We empower everyone to succeed, and that looks different for each person as they grow professionally.”

Amy also appreciates that Haley Ward is a company that’s continually evolving. The firm’s growth and entrepreneurial spirit create opportunities to think strategically and help shape what’s next.

“I’m excited to be part of Haley Ward’s growth in a strategic way,” she said. “When I think about the future, I’m excited about where we’ll be in five years – the size of the company, the new locations, the services we provide, and the relationships we continue to build with our clients and the communities we serve.”

Outside of work, Amy enjoys giving back through one of her lifelong passions: field hockey. A graduate of Brewer High School, she played throughout her school years before beginning a coaching career in college that lasted nearly 15 years. While previous positions didn’t allow her the flexibility to continue coaching, Haley Ward has made it possible for her to return to the sport that means so much to her. Today, she volunteers as a coach at her alma mater, Brewer High School, and helps with summer field hockey programs.

“Having that flexibility has allowed me to give back to something I’m passionate about,” she said.

As Amy steps into her new role as Chief Financial Officer, she brings not only extensive financial leadership experience, but also a collaborative leadership style rooted in accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement. She is excited to help guide Haley Ward’s continued growth while ensuring the firm remains well-positioned for the future.
